Commercial TunSafe / WireGuard VPN services

Following commercial VPN services (as I know about) provide support for TunSafe / WireGuard:

Heh, these are probably the ones PIA was alluding to in their blog when they dismissed them as "jumping the gun" on WireGuard implementation. Oh well, I guess they're content to be the Apple of the VPN world big_smile

Re: Commercial TunSafe / WireGuard VPN services

Most likely they were the WireGuard VPN providers alluded to. It's unfortunate, as WireGuard will almost certainly replace OpenVPN sometime soon. AzireVPN, at least, mentions that WireGuard is still in the beta phase, although none of the snapshots I've used have ever failed. The VPN providers who fail to keep up with current technology will lose out to those who are on the cutting edge.

TunSafe is in a strong position to succeed, as they can provide support for both the client and server side.

Re: Commercial TunSafe / WireGuard VPN services

There are some legitimate concerns - not so much about the encryption technology, but rather how Wireguard will be implemented by commercial providers.  Wireguard is ideal for creating a private tunnel between your home & office, for example.  But not much work has been done yet on the server infrastructure that an ISP would use.  So it might be acceptable for Netflix or something - but if you are trying to avoid political or industrial espionage, commercial proxy services are having some difficulty trying to reconcile Wireguard with their privacy guarantees.  Even if you trust the provider, you still may want hosting infrastructure that protects your data if the server or admin console is compromised.  If you need better performance than OpenVPN, then IKEv2 is probably the best alternative for now.
