Setting DNS Server in Windows 7 does not work

I am using 1.4 in Windows 7 to connect my own Wireguard Server. Whenever I set the DNS in the config file, no matter to what - Servers external or internal adress, Google's DNS, anything, it won't resolve after connecting. Leaving the entry empty, it uses my ISP's DNS server and works fine. What do I need to to to set the WIreguard server as DNS resolver? On other clients - Android, Mac - this works fine.

EDIT: Same behaviour on 1.5 rc1

Thanks!

Re: Setting DNS Server in Windows 7 does not work

There's no need to edit the conf file at all. Here are the steps to take.

  1. Open Windows Control Panel and click "Network and Sharing Center".

  2. In the left hand menu click "Change adapter settings".

  3. Right click the TAP-Windows adapter V9 and go to "Properties".

  4. Scroll down the list and click "Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4)" to highlight it and then click the "Properties" button.

  5. In the second half of the menu which opens click the radio button: "Use the following DNS server addresses:"

  6. Type the IP of the DNS server you want to use.

  7. Click OK and then repeat for your WiFi or Ethernet connection (and for IPv6 if your VPN supports it).

Here's a couple of screenshots. The DNS server in the second one is my VPN's DNS server which is https://www.azirevpn.com/docs/servers

Sounds like a bug on Windows 7. Will look.

Thank you sir, that works like a charm!

@ludde Thanks. If you want me to test/verify anything, just let me know.

Sorry I don't understand the meaning of the sentence. Do you mean I need to change the WiFi DNS server at the same time? I don't know what the meaning of "repeat" in this sentence is.
